It’s Music Night! PDF Print E-mail

It was a SELL OUT night at the Rifle Club on Friday 7 November 2014.  It was a great night of live music, fundraising and CAKES IN THE FACE!

There was a great line up and the packed venue soon had a full dance floor.

First up was the young band Lucky 13 who played some great tunes. Then fresh from playing the mega Victorious Festival, Andy Muscat rocked the stage with some cool original tracks and popular covers.

Off Beat Offensive closed the show with a bang! There are an 8 piece Ska/Reggae/Ska Punk band who filled up the stage with some loud and lively tunes.

An unusual twist on the night was the CAKE IN THE FACE CHALLENGE! This is just how it sounds... you get a cake in the face! The idea is that you film the challenge and upload it to Facebook, then make a donation to the Trust and nominate others to do the a chain reaction of cake!

Ray Muscat and Mark Baird were two of the event organisers and they bravely took on the first challenge, as did the very game lead singer of Offbeat Offensive. You can visit the Trust Facebook page to see who has taken part in the challenge so far!

You can text the Trust a donation for the Cake in the Face Challenge (or just because you want to!). It is quick and easy to do.

Simply text ‘TPCT14 £enter amount’ to the number 70070 e.g. TPCT14 £5.

You can chose to donate any amount. Text messages are free to send on all networks with the JustTextGiving service, and the Tom Prince Cancer Trust gets 100% of every donation.

There was a great atmosphere and as well as the usual lovely supporters, there were lots of new faces too - which is grand!

There were some great prizes up for grabs in the raffle and some cool treats in the auction. The Trust was really pleased at how much the auction rasied and would like to thank everyone for their generosity. Thanks to Peter Prince for donating a signed Portsmouth FC shirt, which was used to raise funds in a blackout competition. Thanks also to everyone who donated raffle prizes - your support is much appreciated.

In total the fundraiser raised an incredible £3,360... THANK YOU!

Thank to DJ Kortexiphankid for keeping the music pumping between bands and to the staff at the Rifle Club for keeping the drinks flowing. Massive thanks to Ray, Mark and Steve who organised the event... with help from their better halves!

The doors shut at 1:00am and the floor was still full of movers and shakers. Thank you so much to everyone who came along and made it such a fun night!

There are some fab photos from the night on the Trust Facebook page and they will be uploaded here shortly!
