Bu and Sam on the Bestival Main Stage

Friends of the Trust, Luke ‘Bu’ Harman and Sam Farnfield, set themselves a huge challenge to raise funds for the Trust....and it was a great success!

They walked from Bristol to the major music festival, Bestival, on the Isle of Wight, whilst carrying heavy camping rucksacks and partaking in tasks set by friends!

They covered 150 miles on the journey
, through city streets and countryside. They took in some beautiful scenery and met some lovely people along they way, who donated to the cause.

Those who donated a day’s wages could set the boys a challenge. As such, they had to mime a tug of war across a road so that they stopped traffic (this was done responsibly on a quiet country road folks!), and had to arrive at the festival in drag! Sam's cousin is a make up artist, so the lads arrived in beautiful dresses and fantastic make up!

They set themselves a fund-raising target of £1,000 and have smashed through that! They are currently at £1,102!

Bestival was very supportive and invited Sam and Bu onto the main stage to be presented with Bestival medals!

Luke said: ‘It felt incredible when we got there. It was an amazing sense of achievement.'

Sam said: ‘Everyone at the trust works so hard and they get little recognition for what they do so we wanted to do our bit to help them.'

Emma from the Trust was there to greet them at Bestival and it was a wonderful sight!

A huge thank you to Sam and Bu for their incredible efforts, and to all the lovelies who sponsored them.
